We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Analyst in our Corporate IT department to be responsible for providing support and analysis of assigned work processes or applications in the IT Department. The IT analyst will be assigned certain applications or work processes to support. For applications, the analyst will be required to track issues, coordinate outside vendor support, provide direct support to end users, plan and monitor upgrades or modifications to the assigned application. For work processes, the analyst will be required to document the processes, administer the tasks associated with the process, and coordinate others who are required for successful completion of the work process objective. The analyst is a critical role in IT, required to touch and coordinate between stakeholders inside and outside the department. The role will involve gathering data, analyzing, and translating into meaningful information. The role will also be critical in providing support the user community, so detailed understanding of assigned applications and ability to work effectively with others in a support capacity is critical. This role will be assigned applications within the OnBase Document management system, Spreadsheet server excel addin, Kentico content management system used to maintain the Intranet and Internet web sites. This role will be responsible for coordinating IT Control processes for periodic SOX review, which includes end user recertification.

The ideal person for this position should be highly motivated, customer oriented, energetic, as well as demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills. The candidate must have the ability to look at the “Big Picture” and how systems\new technology will help propel GrafTech’s future requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of IT policy and procedures and application globally.
  • Participates in project teams, coordinate open task and issue lists. Follows up with participants on project for status. Participants will include external vendors to GrafTech, employees and contractors inside and outside the IT department.
  • Act as key contact for certain vendor relationships, as assigned. Examples are OnBase document management system, Global software, WireViews, others as assigned. Act as liaison with CGI in the management of the PC Refresh program.
  • Monitoring spend and updating the contractual relationship for assigned vendors. Understand key terms and conditions of the relationship, ensures contract is kept current, renewals are handled timely.
  • Participate and Support processes for collecting and reporting IT Metrics. Use and understanding of the IT department SDE ticketing system will be required.
  • Assist in the development, analysis, and documentation of corporate IT work processes. Activity will include creation of work process diagrams, analyzing work activities, looking for improvement opportunities.
  • Understand the details of specific SOX IT CONTROL processes assigned. Conduct testing of Corporate controls requiring periodic testing, report on deficiencies, and assist in remediation. Maintain records for internal and external auditors. Uses knowledge of automated tools, programming, SQL reporting skills to automate reporting processes.
  • Responsible for the administration of the GrafTech internal intranet. Must maintain deep knowledge of the OnBase system. Act as over system administrator for the intranet. Assign, monitor security of the employees authorized to edit content. Participate in training end users where required. Coordinate with Wired Views for support or authorized modifications that require their involvement.
  • Monitor and support electronic work processes, like the approvals processes. Will include supporting the electronic forms on the intranet to the email boxes where requests are filed. Assist service desk with interface of electronic work processes into the SDE ticket system.
  • Stays current with new technologies in the industry and determines if there is practical application in the GTI environment.
  • Complies with site and Corporate HSEP requirements. 
  • Assist with administrative duties as required.

Pre-requisites/Requirements:

  • Ideally, but not required, a Bachelor’s degree in business accounting or IT. If no degree, preference is given to those actively pursuing a 4 year degree.
  • Understanding of the work processes associated with a global IT environment
  • Understanding of desktop technologies, including Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and their use in a progressive business environment.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical tools such as Excel or MS Access. Familiar with SQL for manipulating data.
  • Understanding of Active directory, extraction of system information, joining information for various sources, producing reporting.
  • Desktop publishing experience, including graphics and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior analytical capability, reviewing data, drawing conclusions, detecting patterns, developing improvement hypothesis, articulating conclusions and opinions.
  • Collecting and analyzing data from various platforms. Understanding of data base connectors like ODBC and SQL language in the collection and analysis of data.
  • Report creation in MS Access, Excel, and Crystal Reports.
  • Excellent desktop computing skills. 
  • 2-3 years of experience with Hyland software OnBase application. Basic level certifications in the application.
  • Understanding of Global Software Executive Dash
  • Understanding of any web based programming language that uses HTML, or .Net programming skills, is helpful but not required.
  • Understanding or project planning and reporting, use of MS Project.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Sharepoint
