This senior environmental position will focus on managing the corporate environmental protection programs for all GrafTech lines of business worldwide. Key responsibilities include establishing environmental policies and procedures, assessing site compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, providing technical support to sites and business initiatives, assisting sites with environmental permitting activities, developing and managing global HS&E sustainability reporting processes. Develop and implement standard written environmental protection procedures to ensure cost effective compliance with legal requirements and Corporate objectives worldwide. Monitor and assess the impacts of new environmental laws and regulations and provide site environmental and engineering personnel with interpretive guidance to assist them with compliance efforts. Must be able to travel: 15 - 25% domestic travel; 10 - 20% international travel. Must be physically capable for travel and working in a heavy industrial environment during site visits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Graduate degree in technical field preferably engineering or environmental management/sciences
- At least 10 years HS&E experience, including responsibility for compliance program at a manufacturing facility; experience at a corporate level HS&E function is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels within the organization
- Training site HS&E professionals
- Professional certification, such as CIH, CSP, PE, CHMM is a plus
