GrafTech International Holdings, Inc. is a global company with over 100 years of experience in the carbon and graphite industry. We manufacture and provide high-quality natural and synthetic graphite and carbon products and services. Our Columbia, Tennessee facility has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains budget control on capital expenditures.
- Develops and implements project plans as required.
- Inspects projects involving contractors for quality of work and compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoots technical issues within projects.
- Utilizes/complies with HS&EP guidelines in project work and insures that contractors also comply with guidelines.
- Prepares and presents project/cost summaries for management.
- Applies new technology to older equipment, as needed, to improve equipment performance, reliability, and throughput.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum five years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with managing capital budgets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong Computer skills.
- Flexibility for occasional travel.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to establish strong vendor relationships.
- Experience in a Union environment.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience and/or certifications a plus.
- Strong track record in the area of project management.
- Knowledge of SPC principles, control charts, statistics a plus.
