GRAFOAM carbon foam is an open cell, rigid, carbon-based material that can be produced in densities from 5 lb/ft3 to 30 lb/ft3 (0.08-0.50 g/cc) and is offered in a variety of sizes. The unique properties of carbon foam make it an integrated solution for various applications including core material in multi-layer sandwich panels, composite tooling, and high temperature components.

January 2009: GrafTech Obtains License for Carbon Foam Tooling

GrafTech International produces large block sizes consistently and uniformly. The nominal block size is 18" x 72" x 6" (450 mm x 1800 mm x 15 mm).
