This Project Engineer will provide exceptional engineering expertise in the field of new production equipment enhancements and project engineering concept to implementation. Initial focus on machining specialty.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts innovative process equipment concept design requiring a high level of creativity of approach
- Demonstrates exceptional skill in applying such designs to both existing and new plants
- Manages and oversees project throughout life cycle from concept to production
- Through liaison with plant and R&D staff, is aware of current process, safety, and environmental needs and activities of the lines of business.
- While goal will be to migrate to more general role, initial focus will be in area of Electrode and Pin Machining
- Handles multiple projects with minimum supervision
- Makes clear and effective presentations
- Is recognized worldwide by management and peers as the resource for synthetic graphite manufacturing equipment
Qualifications:
- B. S. degree in mechanical engineering
- Advanced engineering degree preferred
- Thorough knowledge of plant processes and problems related to production equipment
- Project engineering experience and demonstrated project management competence
- Extensive practical knowledge gained through at least 5 years of experience in relevant industry
- Experience in design and/or operations of production equipment related to special purpose machines, precision machining, dust collection, CNC programming, servo systems, system integration particularly Siemens or Fanuc, CMMs & error analysis
- Cad skills and Solid Works preferred
Special Skills:
- Ability to manage large engineering projects of $1-15 million.
Work Conditions:
- Significant domestic & international travel required
- Must be able to work in plants/on construction jobs—occasional exposure to dust, fumes, heights, uneven surfaces, noise, etc.
